Alternatively you could cover the overhang with plywood to make it level.

Once this is done measure and cut out your pieces of laminate to make tread pieces riser pieces and stair nosing.
Slide the first two rows into their final position and repeat steps 5 and 6 above using the same alternating plank technique to complete the process.
If you ve got concrete stairs to cover the laminate must be glued down using high quality construction glue.
When installing a floating laminate floor you don t need to use any adhesive nails or staples.
If you haven t installed the flooring on the landing yet go ahead and install the bullnose molding when you reach the top of the stairs so you can butt the flooring up to it.
You can also use them to finish your staircase and create a perfectly harmonious interior.
A floating installation is not secure enough for stairs and flooring coming loose might lead to falls.
