Install Welded Wire Fence T Post

Most welded wire fence is installed using t posts but not all t posts are created equal.

Align the end of the mesh with the edge of the post and attach it to the post with fence staples. Pull the fence taut. Use the t post driving tool. Welded wire is generally made of material that will not rust rot or burn.

Wrap a wire clip around the back of the t post place the ends of the clip around the wire on either side of the post and squeeze the ends of the wire clip to make tight fits around the fencing. Starting at a corner attach the end of your roll of welded wire. Unroll the fence to the opposite corner or end post and attach it to the post with 1 1 2 inch galvanized fence staples. Once the roll is attached carefully unroll and stretch the wire to the next post. Installation a welded wire fence is a quick and easy way to keep dogs and kids in the yards. Each post should be driven into the ground until the flared fins are beneath the surface. You should space your posts 8 12 feet apart as a general rule although 10 12 feet apart is sufficient for 5 6 wire barbed fence.

The fence should be on the outside of all the posts. The standard tried and true metal t posts are the most commonly used but if you would like something more attractive than the green metal posts or are using the fence to enclose livestock and want to use electric fencing there are better options. It is a special weighted pipe that slides up and down on the top section of a t post forcing the post into the ground. Welded wire fences can vary in size from 3 feet tall to 6 feet tall.

Simply lift the tool and let go gravity and the weight of the tool will work to drive the t post in. Attach the fencing to the first corner t post beginning at the top. Tie the wire to the pole.
